Our Mission

NRG's mission is to preserve, educate, spread awareness, and provide access to retro technology and culture in order to shape the present and future. Through events, publications, livestreaming, and soon a dedicated physical space, we seek to offer viable alternatives to modern technology during a time when both legacy hardware and physical media are threatened.

Our Roots

For two decades, members of NEON Retro Group have repaired and maintained countless classic arcade games, rare computers, video game consoles, and other vintage technology, along with archiving lost and endangered media and software.

During that time we have organized and run major preservation and retro culture-focused events including NEON Retrofest, and we have also supplied vintage tech to other regional and national events, including nonprofit efforts with similar goals.

We have always performed virtually all of our website, coding, communications, and graphic design work in-house and possess extensive experience with video editing and livestreaming.

What we Do

Preserved hardware, software, media, and design aesthetics count for little if they aren't accessible. NEON Retro Group goes beyond archiving the past by placing these relics and archives directly into your hands to enjoy both virtually and in-person.

Through events, printed and virtual content, livestreaming, and soon an interactive museum with live workshops, lectures, and exhibits, we bring retro conservation to as many people as possible, keeping it alive for future generations to enjoy.

PRESERVATION

We are dedicated to preserving vintage hardware and physical media at all costs. Our members excel in PCB and CRT monitor repair, as well as romdumping and lost media preservation. In an era when even the concept of physical media and self-owned hardware is threatened, we will hold the line in the fight for tech agency, right-to-repair, and true ownership.

EVENTS

From our flagship festival NEON Retrofest to a multitude of other functions, we organize and support regional and national events by showcasing arcade games, retro consoles and computers, artists and musicians, knowledgeable panelists, and much more.

LIVESTREAMING

Members of NEON Retro Group broadcast live most nights on Twitch and other platforms, sharing our passion for retro technology and classic gaming with our viewers. Through gaming captured in beautiful RGB from restored vintage console and arcade hardware, we've built a dedicated community of enthusiasts who share our goal of creating a retro-inspired future.

MUSEUM

We're working on designing a fully interactive museum on the west coast of Florida to house a significant curated retro tech collection. We also plan to use the space for small events, rotating exhibits, workshops, lectures, symposiums, livestreaming, and more. To support the museum's launch, click here.
